King Tut leaves Sept. 5

If you and the family make it to Minneapolis/St. Paul for this Labor Day weekend (and for the state fair!) definitely take time out to visit the Science Museum of Minnesota (St. Paul) and check out the King Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs exhibit.  The very last day of this exhibit is Monday, Sept. 5 so you only have a few days left! This grandforksnodak family has been to the exhibit and it’s worth seeing. There are a lot of artifacts of the pharaohs and royal families, the movie in the omnitheater is very informative and all in all – it’s seeing a very cool aspect of Egypt without having to fly overseas. Awaken the archeologist in your kids and see King Tut!

For tickets and more information check out the Science Museum of Minnesota’s website: http://www.smm.org/tut

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a program for families with children between the ages of birth to kindergarten entrance. The program is offered through Minnesota public schools. ECFE is based on the idea that the family provides a child’s first and most significant learning environment and parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. ECFE works to strengthen families. ECFE’s goal is to enhance the ability of all parents to provide the best possible environment for their child’s learning and growth.

East Grand Forks Public Schools offers ECFE Monday-Friday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Central Middle School. Families choose one day of the week to attend. The ECFE schedule follows the Minnesota school schedule. The cost is $30 for Minnesota residents and $50 for North Dakota residents per family per semester. Call East Grand Forks Public Schools Community Education for further details 773.3494.
