For every letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation (up to $1,000,000). Macy’s will deliver the letters to the post office to mail to Santa! You can also purchase “Yes, Virginia” the holiday classic on dvd for $9.99 or the illustrated storybook for $16.99 at Macy’s and Macy’s will donate 10% of the purchase price of each to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Macy’s letter count updates (nationally) will be broadcasted on the CBS Early Show at 7am throughout the holiday season.

No matter how you feel about the Lock out going on at Crystal Sugar, the children of the employees are the ones who are going to suffer this Christmas. Help give them a happy Christmas. Whether you are on the side of corporate or the locked out employees, the children are the innocent bystanders who will be hurt by all this.

TOYS FOR TOTS
Marine Corps Toys for Tots. Columbia Mall is a drop off point for Marine Corps Toys for Tots. Collection boxes for new, unwrapped toys are located in center court and Macys and JC Penney’s courts before Dec. 6. You can also drop off toys at any of the United Way offices in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.
SANTA CLAUS GIRLS
Since 1916, the Grand Forks Herald Santa Claus Girls have been sending gifts of new toys to children 12 and younger from families in GF and EGF. Members of the community can help by donating money or volunteering to pack and/or deliver presents. To contribute money, fill out the coupon in the GF Herald or leave donations at the GF Herald during business hours. You can help make gift packages beginning at 2pm on Dec. 8 at the Herald Community Room. To deliver presents, come to the Herald Community Room at 8am on Dec. 9. Call the Herald for more information.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Each year, Operation Christmas Child asks volunteers to collect shoe boxes and pack them with items for children and then distribute the boxes to kids in 100 countries around the world. Volunteers at the GRAND Forks area collection site have been busy with thousands of shoe boxes packed with school supplies, toy and necessity items purchased and packed by area residents.
