University Children’s Center Silent Auction Sat. Mar. 31

This is not something to do with kids but rather FOR kids. The University Children’s Center (located on UND’s campus) is hosting it’s 5th annual Silent Auction this Saturday, Mar. 31 from 7-9pm at the center. All proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of environmentally friendly playground equipment.

Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10/ticket for a UCC parent.

UCC accepts children ages 18 months and older for their daycare/pre-school programs. It is also a Head Start center.

Some of the items being auctioned are:

– dinner with Mayor Brown

– dinner with UND President Kelly

– UND Men’s Hockey 2011-2012 team autographed hockey stick and jersey

– gift certificates and packages from local salons and spas such as AVANT, Attractions and Truyu

– waterpark passes to Splashers at CanadInn

– an unlimited summer pass to local dance studio: Dance Etc.!

– photography session from Soulshine Photography

– American Girl doll Rebbeca and accompanying book “Meet Rebbeca”

– services from Piles of Smiles Entertainment (for your next party!)

– gift certificates from local restaurants like Wild Hog

– fabulously stuffed gift baskets from local shops like Adley Anne’s Maternity and Baby Boutique and Amazing Grains

– passes to the Chester Fritz and for summer 2012’s Art & Wine Walks

Easter Egg Hunt: Sat. April 7

Take the kids hunting for eggs on Sat. April 7 at the 9th Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at the Alerus Center. There will be 20,000 candy-filled eggs!

Doors open at 9am and the Egg Hunt is broken down by age groups:

10am ages 2-3

10:15am ages 4-5

10:30am ages 6-8

There will be an Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 2-8, games, arts & crafts, a Leighton Broadcasing activity booth and baby crawl, face painting, GF Fire Dept. Interactive Display and a Bunny Photo Area by Emily Dawes Photography. Concessions will also be open.

Bags for the eggs will be provided at the door. NO OUTDOOR bags or baskets are allowed.

The first egg hunt starts at 10am with the 2-3 year olds followed by other age groups.

This activity goes very quickly so you must be present at 10am to participate in the egg hunt.
