Grand Forks Public Library

The Grand Forks Public Library is a great place to bring the kids. One swipe of your library card and you have FREE access to computers, books (e-books and audio books too), DVDs, videos and cds! The library is open 7 days a week (except for holidays) and offers programs for everyone and there are also meeting rooms that can be used at the library.

September is “Library Card Sign-Up” month.  If you live in Grand Forks County and you have never had a library card at GFPL then it’s free. If you need a replacement card then it’s $1.00. If you don’t live in GF County you can still get a library card – for a fee.

The Children’s Department is on the second level of the library and they offer Pre-School Story-time every Tuesday at 10 AM and Toddler Story-time (ages 0-3 years) every Thursday at 10 AM (lasts about 20 minutes, storytelling, songs, puppet shows, sometimes a craft).  Other children’s activities include a summer reading program, a winter reading program and R.E.A.D. Dogs. There is also a Teen department with its own Teen Advisory Board with various activities throughout the year.  Coming up on Mon. Sept. 26 at 9PM is Family Movie Night. The first movie is Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. All ages are welcome; children under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by an adult. . This movie is rated PG and the running time is 2 hours.
